HV: plastics and circuits

Phase id: p8 · Era: HV

Oil without wells, polyethylene and PTFE, a cleanroom, SMDs, the first HV and EV circuits, the HV component set and diatron lapidary power. Typical pace (community reports, not independent samples): players report about 5 days in HV (median of 5 runs, range 1 to 16).

Oil without wells (pyrolyse + distillery)

Polyethylene and PTFE

  • Module key: plan:plastics · step 43
  • Chain: Polyethylene; also PTFE: three HV Chemical Reactors
  • Uses: gtceu:sulfuric_acid_bucket, gtceu:oxygen_bucket, gtceu:methane_bucket, gtceu:chlorine_bucket
  • Makes: gtceu:polyethylene_bucket, gtceu:plastic_printed_circuit_board, gtceu:polytetrafluoroethylene_bucket
  • Stock: gtceu:polyethylene_bucket in 8 B, gtceu:plastic_printed_circuit_board in 64
  • Watch out:
    • Oxygen gives 1.5x the polymer of air.
    • PTFE: chlorine is the bottleneck, one LV electrolyzer makes 1.7 B a minute and an HV one about 6.7.
    • Unverified fluorine has no recipe in the pack scripts (it must come from topaz, lepidolite or bastnasite): check EMI before planning PTFE.
    • Diluted sulfuric acid comes back: re-concentrate it.

Cleanroom (5x5x5)

  • Module key: plan:cleanroom · step 44
  • Chain: Cleanroom (5×5×5): plascrete, filter casings, one energy hatch
  • Uses: gtceu:polyethylene_bucket
  • Makes: gtceu:cleanroom, gtceu:cleanroom_glass
  • Power: 30 / 120 / 480 EU/t (LV / MV / HV hatch) while cleaning
  • Watch out:
    • Not needed for the first HV circuits; it matters for phosphorus wafers, SoCs and every EV circuit.
    • Smallest size: 89 plascrete / glass blocks, 8 filter casings in the ceiling, 1 energy hatch, 1 maintenance hatch.
    • About 45 steel frames + 270 polyethylene plates (about 39 B) + 6.5 B concrete: plan the plastic first.
    • No generators, mufflers or other cleanrooms inside: keep the EBFs outside.

SMDs and HV circuits

  • Module key: plan:hvcirc · step 45
  • Chain: HV circuits: Advanced Integrated Circuit and Microprocessor Assembly; also SMDs from HV Assemblers (one machine per part)
  • Uses: gtceu:plastic_printed_circuit_board, gtceu:polyethylene_bucket
  • Makes: gtceu:smd_resistor, gtceu:smd_transistor, gtceu:smd_capacitor, gtceu:advanced_integrated_circuit, gtceu:micro_processor_assembly, gtceu:micro_processor_computer
  • Stock: gtceu:advanced_integrated_circuit in 32
  • Power: HV assembler 480 EU/t for every SMD
  • Watch out:
    • First HV circuit = Advanced Integrated Circuit: no cleanroom, an LV Circuit Assembler runs it.
    • Microprocessor Assembly needs the MV Circuit Assembler.
    • Stock 32 of one type first: HV assembler, reactor and mixer take 2 each, the LCR 4.
    • Unverified sources of gallium foil, silicone rubber foil and nickel zinc ferrite were not traced.
    • First EV circuit = Microprocessor Supercomputer: a 120 EU/t cleanroom recipe, so an MV Circuit Assembler inside the cleanroom makes it; the HV Circuit Assembler (which itself needs EV circuits) only speeds it up.

HV components (on LV assemblers)

  • Module key: plan:hvcomp · step 46
  • Chain: HV components 1/2: motor, pump, conveyor on LV assemblers; also HV components 2/2: piston, robot arm, emitter, sensor (and field generator) on LV assemblers
  • Uses: gtceu:rubber_bucket, gtceu:advanced_integrated_circuit, gtceu:chromium_rod
  • Makes: gtceu:hv_electric_motor, gtceu:hv_electric_piston, gtceu:hv_electric_pump, gtceu:hv_conveyor_module, gtceu:hv_robot_arm, gtceu:hv_emitter, gtceu:hv_sensor
  • Power: LV assembler 30 EU/t, 5 s per part
  • Watch out:
    • Every HV component recipe is a 5 s, 30 EU/t assembler recipe: an LV assembler runs them all.
    • Motors first and biggest (12 a minute per assembler): piston 1, pump 1, conveyor 2, robot arm 3.
    • One HV Assembler needs 2 arms + 2 conveyors = 10 motors, plus 4 HV circuits.
    • Emitter and sensor go into the HV Laser Engraver (2 pistons + 1 emitter).

HV hulls

  • Module key: plan:hvhull · step 47
  • Chain: HV hull line (stainless casing + polyethylene)
  • Uses: gtceu:stainless_steel_ingot, gtceu:polyethylene_bucket
  • Makes: gtceu:hv_machine_hull
  • Stock: gtceu:hv_machine_hull in 8
  • Watch out:
    • Casing: 8 stainless steel plates; hull: casing + 2 polyethylene plates + 1 stainless plate + 2 gold cables.
    • The HV Assembler is built from this hull.

HV power: diatron gems in lapidary dynamos

  • Module key: plan:hvpower · step 48
  • Chain: HV power: diatron gems in Lapidary Dynamos
  • Uses: thermal:dynamo_lapidary, minecraft:diamond, gtceu:hv_machine_hull
  • Makes: gtceu:diatron_gem, gtceu:hv_4a_energy_converter
  • Stock: gtceu:diatron_gem in 64
  • Power: about 750 EU/t per lapidary dynamo with an HV kit (pack code value)
  • Watch out:
    • HV Upgrade Kit: the pack code gives x15 (3 000 RF/t = 750 EU/t per dynamo), the quests say x24 and community reports measured about 4 800 RF/t: read the dynamo tooltip. At x15, 24 dynamos are 18 kEU/t, not the 30 kEU/t quoted in community reports (that needs ARC kits).
    • Machine Capacity (MCI) kits raise energy per fuel, not EU/t: 1.45x per HV kit, 1.6x per EV kit, multiplicative (3 HV MCI = about 3.05x = 914 700 RF per diamond).
    • Flux Networks is an HV option after all: the quest shop sells 8 flux plugs + 8 flux points for 16 coins once you make the Large Chemical Reactor (flux dust itself is an EV LCR recipe).
    • No Mystical Agriculture in this pack: diamonds come from the sand sieve (7.5 %) or the Rock Filtrator diamond geode.
