HV: stainless, Kanthal and air

Phase id: p7 · Era: HV

Chromium from the Void Extractor, stainless steel and Kanthal coils, and the air gases that speed up every blast furnace. Typical pace (community reports, not independent samples): players report about 5 days in HV (median of 5 runs, range 1 to 16).

Chromium (Void Extractor residue)

  • Module key: plan:chromium · step 39
  • Chain: Chromium: Void Extractor residue → chromite dust → electrolyzer → chromium dust, ingot and rod; also Rare Ore Residue
  • Makes: gtceu:chromium_dust, gtceu:chromium_rod
  • Stock: gtceu:chromium_dust in drum
  • Power: Void Extractor 30 EU/t; residue electrolyzer 30 EU/t; MV electrolyzer 60 EU/t
  • Watch out:
    • Stainless, Kanthal and nichrome all need chromium dust, so this line comes first.
    • 1 chromium dust = 3.5 chromite dust = about 4.4 extractor runs; build two or three extractors early.
    • The residue electrolyzer gives four sludge dusts at once: give each its own drawer or the output bus clogs.
    • Unverified chromite electrolysis (7 dust -> 1 iron + 2 chromium + 4 B oxygen) is derived from the code, not read from EMI.
    • This line can start at the end of MV: Void Extractor (LV) + LV electrolyzer + MV centrifuge + MV electrolyzer. Demand check: 15 stacks of stainless = about 107 chromium + 107 manganese dust.

Air: oxygen and nitrogen

  • Module key: plan:air · step 40
  • Chain: Oxygen & nitrogen from air (Gas Collector + Centrifuge); also Steel: Electric Blast Furnace + oxygen
  • Makes: gtceu:oxygen_bucket, gtceu:nitrogen_bucket
  • Stock: gtceu:nitrogen_bucket in drum
  • Power: MV gas collector 64 EU/t; MV centrifuge 112 EU/t
  • Watch out:
    • One collector (120 B of air a minute) feeds four MV centrifuges: add centrifuges, not collectors.
    • 10 B of air gives 3.9 B nitrogen + 1 B oxygen.
    • Nitrogen is the real consumer: 1 B per ingot speeds up the stainless and Kanthal blast furnaces.

Stainless steel and Kanthal

  • Module key: plan:stainless · step 41
  • Chain: Stainless steel: MV Mixer + HV Electric Blast Furnace; also Kanthal: MV Mixer, HV EBF, chemical bath, wire, spring and coil block
  • Uses: gtceu:chromium_dust, gtceu:nitrogen_bucket, gtceu:aluminium_ingot, minecraft:copper_ingot
  • Makes: gtceu:stainless_steel_ingot, gtceu:kanthal_coil_block, gtceu:kanthal_spring
  • Stock: gtceu:stainless_steel_ingot in 64
  • Power: HV EBF 480 EU/t (stainless 1700 K, Kanthal 1800 K); MV mixer 120 EU/t
  • Watch out:
    • The EBF recipes are 480 EU/t: build the HV Energy Hatch, an MV hatch refuses them.
    • Mixer circuit 3: 6 iron + 1 nickel + 1 manganese + 1 chromium dust = 9 stainless dust. Kanthal on circuit 1: 1 iron + 1 aluminium + 1 chromium.
    • The hot Kanthal ingot needs a chemical bath (100 mB water); the coil block is 8 double wire + 8 aluminium foil + 144 mB copper.
    • Chromium is the bottleneck: 16 Kanthal coils eat 128 chromium dust.
    • Stainless (EBF 1700 K) and Kanthal (EBF 1800 K) are 480 EU/t recipes: an HV hatch, or two 2 A MV hatches on one EBF (4 A at MV = 1 A at HV), so both can be prepared at the end of MV.
